Ankle pain and strains can be extremely painful and highly inconvenient to your everyday life. Such pains can be brought on from sporting activities, accidentally applying too much pressure to the ankle or even just positioning your foot in the wrong way.
- Ice the area that is swollen which will take down the inflammation
- Try and keep of the foot and ankle and try and elevate the foot
- Try to not keep the foot stiff and try to rotate in small circular movements
- Foot pain
- Foot swelling
- Foot bruising
If after several weeks your ankle continues to be painful, we recommend consulting Jonathan Stanley, our podiatrist. Examination could reveal a tear with the formation of scar tissue which can result in long term pain and stiffness.
